Jan '21: A new year starts but looks like Covid is here to stay for a while! I finally got my Bernina sewing machine back so I hope to be able to get back to stitching the Anger Panel. However, I've also been playing with the new Janome & hope to start a project using that too. I've also been looking at all the blogs to date & decided to bring some to an end especially as the one on the main website is now being used. Because of the pandemic last year & the fact the main studio is more easily used, I've been reshuffling things around to soon be able to bring everything from Worle into one place.
Diary 2021
Feb'21: Oh dear ... we are again with Covid 19 & another lockdown & hope to have the 1st vaccine jab soon. Many businesses have disappeared & any "close service work' is just not allowed to be done. I have a small number of customers who are waiting until things change but don't think that will be yet!! I've been keeping busy doing a few of my own sewing jobs & am about to start a patchwork bed cover to use up leftover cotton fabric from a customers blouses & kimonos.
Mar'21: The bed throw is now underway & will be called "Summer Garden" (detail above) - just because that's what the fabric reminds me of ... by the end of the month, it has been posted to its new home. Also I'm hoping that by Easter, all my sewing, art & craft items will be relocated ... albeit they will no doubt have to be sorted out YET AGAIN!!
Apr'21: The bed throw's making has been briefly detailed on the Stitcherydoodaa Studio blog (click to the link to read it). I'm also considering renovating my fashion dolls - maybe making some period outfits for them too. They are still all in boxes from when we moved & range in size from 10" - 26" tall with both known & unknown makes - most are from the UK but some from US. 2nd Covid jab has also been done (part of history in the future!!)
May'21: IThe Elna sewing machine has finally been returned from repair & is almost like new so I'll be treating that with GREAT RESPECT when next used. I've decided to begin on the doll collection - a small range of 1950/60s vinyl fashion dolls. They have been stored in boxes since moving & after reducing their numbers!! decided to just keep those I had space for & who could be fully clothed in an entire outfit. They all need inspecting, cleaning & renovating - especially their hair which generally have become very flat. Most of the dolls bodies are grubby so along with their clothing, everything will have to be cleaned - initial inspection shows numbers of stockings & shoes are a little limited.
June'21: The dolls have now been finished (well the first lot that is) & includes Sindy, Miss Rosebud & Miss Chiltern but more about their history later as I start organising & uploading imagery of them all.
